greatest albums of the twentieth century, 2...

Back in the 50's, early 60's urban America was the land of pinball, slot machines and the JUKEBOX.
The machinations of the music indsutry in that period is worth a monumental study all in itself but the giant was Freddy KIng.
Topped off by his masterpiece Hideaway he also issued forth with side after side of individual 45's offering genuine, seemingly unending  innovation and variations on the theme all complete with a withering solo on the around about the fourth chorus.
No one could touch him then and they still cant now.
His career tapered off when the owner of Cincinatti based Federal Records, Sid Nathan died but he still kicked arse right up till he died of a burst ulcer on stage at Armadillo World Head Quarters, Christmas eve 1974, the house that Freddy built.
anyway if you want to love the music just learn his solos and capture the feeling and you will be on the way.
