SHARPS AND FLATS....

Great  listening  to Burt on Radio NZ yesterday.
And his protestations about vocoders and the sameness of music these days.
too right Burt.
Its all pap now.
You know. The juice that comes from the breast after child feeding has stopped.
Anyway the ubiquitous use of vocoders has made music insipid and horrible.
I remember reading about JO "Stafford and how they said she had perfect pitch.
Well I put on of her discs on the turntable and put the old Fender ST-1 up against the speaker and although the music was on pitch she was just a few bels flat but that only made her voice that much alluring and evocative.
yes indeedy.
If anyone takes the trouble to read Billy Strayhorns bio, Lushlife, he tells of Duke Ellington always tuning the trumpets slightly sharp to give them that edge.
so Now everything is perfect it all sounds like mush.
listen to  that horrible Air New Zealand Jingle.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
get off.
