New Zealand Music Month and the Government

as far as I am concerned Hoghton Hughes should be given a lifetime achievement award for his services to NZ music.
he has done more than anyone!

Watched a great VHS last night
one of HL Groups (HUghes Leisure Group) 30 minute jobs introduced by Willie Nelson and an album of Conway Twitty and some nifty duets with Loretta Lynn.
great stuff.
makes ya feel good!

More Music
King Street Live in Masterton about to get going very soon.
State of the art recording and performance venue.
Masterton looks like its ready to do some good  things soon.

Another VHS from the box last night, "The Proud and the Damned" with Chuck Connors. Great little  b grade oater with really amazing cinematography. outstanding in fact.
check it out.

My pal John the book man has gone away for a week while the plumbers fix his flat.
The old dude always has this book on his coffee table called the "Cloud Collectors Handbook" by Gavin Pretor-Pinney.
He tells me that everyone that sees it wants it and it is very pretty.
I think I am going to have to order it on Amazon unless clouds get in the way.
soon.
Its the best book on clouds I ever did see.
yup.

Talked to a lady this week who asserted that history is nonsense.
she has never read a proper history book but has a whole screed of  historical assertions that are little more than opinions.
Absolutely no conception whatsoever of the hermeneutic cricle or peer review.
Just what I think.
Its the modern way.
Everything else is junk except mine.

and the government
The Prime minister got up in the rag this am and opined that Wellington, the Capital city of New Zealand  is dying and there is nothing his government can do to fix it.
Simple solution.
Change the frigging government
they had their turn.
now turn them out!

As for Happy Gilmore I guess he was operating on the principle that its no good being the boss if you cant bash the hired help.
The Tory mask has slipped off and we can see the real desire for being in Parliament.
Threatening and bullying.
great fun.
The disturbing thing is that the parliamentary gallery flacks are treating  membership of Parliament as a sort of job when according to principle they are supposed to represent their constituents.
1984 speak.
again.
see the daily rag op-ed today for that opinion.

big swinging dick day for the wannabee power mavens trying to do a Chicago Boys style ramp up of the electricty supply in New Zealand.
basically they are just crooks who want to game the market for their own profit
they have the media right behind them who wouldnt know a watt from afrigging kilojoule and who want to get their free allocation of the sahres for their services
they have all conveniently forgotten the  events a t Dow Jones and how the idiots there took their eyes off the ball and nearly sunk the Wall Street Journal.
more adherents of the history is bunk school.
gimme the money now!

New Zealand Re-Constituted
