oh when the saints...

I have always been loyal to TV1 news and weather but a change is gonna come
TV3 weather uses much better graphics and the presenters are there to present the weather and not themselves.
There is no cracker barrel philosophy, cheap witticisms and being to asked to agree with the presenters opinions.
IS THERE.
I realise that one cannot hope to change the way of the world by oneself unless one is a megalomaniac but it is TV1s duty to have standards and accepting the use of figures of speech that are invalid, dishonest and disrespectful is not complying with that duty.
Plus it is banal to listen to drivel.

The great marijuana debate on TV3last night was a letdown.
all tricks and no substance.
I was very disappointed that garner and espiner let ex cop MIke Sabin, Timaru mayor Annnear and ex gang member Poulou off the hook by not asking the real question and that is: is the use of marijuana by young people the cause or the effect of poverty and the rottenness that underpins our society.
Pretending that the symptom is the cause is a mass delusion that does nobody any good but it allows idiots in power more column inches in the paper for their next political campaign .
Until they answer that then they are just bandaging the wound and using DRUG use to scare and frighten people.
Anyone knows that if you are rich then obtaining the drug of your choice is no problem and that there are shooting gallerys in every major city and town where the rich go and indulge themselves in their pleasure with no fear of apprehension or ever being called account.
So using the lowest strata of our society to whip up hysteria and win votes is just low.
And Sabin used a whole lot of false platitudes to bolster the  his assertion which I will not give the benefit of being an evidential reasoned  argument but call it for what it was viz; a load of sh*te.
The main crapola was his assertion that laws are made for law abiding citizens???????
What does that mean?
Laws are made in the sure and certain knowledge that people are going to break them and when people like Sabin go round mouthing off nonsense then it is no wonder that no progress is ever going to be made for those kids   who need drugs to blot out the misery and deceit of life at home while the shiny bums continue their rounds of cocktail parties and bum kissing after their hard days work in the slums and the ghettoes.

going through a vinyl stack last night and found the soundtrack LP from the Five Pennies.
Gave it a good burst and taped it for later.
Fabulous movie and boffo music
