planetary health...

These days it is hard to concentrate on what matters most.
Nascent proto-hordes in the middle east or the non stop attack on the environment and the biota that enables humans to exist.
I don't deny that I love aeroplanes.
Brought up to the sound of 6 cylinder horizontally opposed Continental I0-470's winding up on frosty autumn mornings and the sound of hartzell and macauley props  in fine pitch.
Somehow the romance of machinery is impossible to deny.
However I could just as easily be in the van of the mongols sweeping off the steppes and cutting the villagers down with swords and eating them to preserve the cattle!!!!!!
erkkkkk.
What about the 800,000 skulls piled up outside Damascus after Timur left.
What happened to the rest of them?
So.
(That's a philosophers word brought into general use by Hooton and his gang trying to overawe the plebs)
But anyway the world cannot continue to extract everything with no thought for the future.
I once helped to save a rainforest.
It took a while to realise that the institutional conservationists had promised our rainforest to the government for another piece to save a bird in the north Island.
The eternal contradiction.
this or that.
hmmmmm.
The thought of a pulp mill desecrating the Grey River with 500 tons of beech forest a day was just to much to bear so we all went into bat and we won!
It cost me everything though.
job. friends. you name it.
The prospect of two cars, new colour teevees and trips to the rugby league grand final in Sydney slipping away out of their hands was just too much for some thicko redneks to handle.
and thats the whole story right there.
Who gets what, how and why.
