The Tower of the Winds

Keep a clean nose.
Watch the plain clothes.
You dont need a weatherman to tell which way the wind blows.

Memo to: Moira Coatsworth, Tim Barnett, David Cunliffe.

Why the New Zealand Labour Party is determined to lose the next election.
First a little homily.
In 1948 for no explicable reason the British government under Labour leader Clement Attlee supplied the U.S.S.R. with 25 brand new Rolls-Royce  Nene jet engines which enabled the Russians to build a fleet of Mig 15's with which to help prosecute the Korean war. Which they lost.
The Russians successfully reversed engineered this engine which they built in massive quantities and never paid any royalties for but from which they demanded royalties from all licensees who manufactured their version.
Old history now but the New Zealand Labour Party have done a similar thing.
They have handed over one of their most valuable resources namely the Standard masthead to one Lin Prentice who professes to be a leftist but in fact is a piss weak jellyfish.
He treats the Standard as his own hobby horse.
Prentice fancies himself and occasionally releases little biographical details as if he was himself some sort of celebrity.
Well let me tell you that Lenin and his cadre would have chucked him out on the first go round.
He thinks his own thoughts are facts and because he knows something about computer programming that therefore knows about everything.
Back to the point he is running the Standard like some sort of interweb chatroom game where any conspiracy theorist, wackjob nutbar is allowed free reign to peddle arrant nonsense.
And more to the point the Standard is riddled with professional national party operatives and an enthusiastic corps of amateurs who daily flood the place with non-sequiturs and and endless screeds of meaningless nonsense but Prentice and his cohorts seem to think that is ok.
well it is not ok and pressure should be brought to bear on Prentice to resign and hand the Standard back to the party  to dispose of to someone or other who knows what to do with it and knows what they are doing and have the NZLP' interests at heart and dont do it for the brownie points every three years at conference.
Its up to genuine Labour Party people to let the leader David Cunliffe and president Moira Coatsworth know that the Standard is being run into the ground by people who have their heads so far up their arses they dont  know who their friends are or how many beans make five.
worst of all Prentice and co are siding with the enemy!
If the NZLP cant take back their property and put their own house in order then the people of New Zealand will know and understand that they cant do anything!
