hysterical kiwis....

John Landau

Carol Kaye

H.R. Trevor -Roper

Great to see Helen Kelly on The Nation on Sunday and take on board some of her observations.
e.g how kiwis get hysterical when cannabis is mentioned.
Its amazing how a society can project all its fears and hatreds onto something that is really inconsequential.
IN countries where it is relatively availlable it is always considered a nostrum for the lower classes and it helps to distinguish them.
Here it is a medium for the gangs to make money and for the cops to get themselves on televison.
strange huh?
Then a report in this mor4nings Dompost about health minister Jonathan Coleman organising a team of psychiatrists/ psychologists to deal with dying people.
Well how about that.
First you better make up your mind which one it is going to be.
Psychologists can only talk. They cant prescribe so I guess they will get the nod.
Talking is much better than doing.
Its the kiwi way. yaketty yaketty yaketty yak!
Perchance I just picked up a book on DYING written by  psychiatrist John Hinton in 1967.
Why has it taken so long to catch up?
And he makes the observation that many will not give dying people pain relief in case they become addicted.
well thats the kiwi way too.
The kiwi way is to quibble and cavil and after yakking about it all to do nothing.
all the decisions are already taken in camera or sub rosa anyway.
or as Jason O'halloran pointed out in the Dompost this morning to make biased decisions that nitpick and alter the result.
and
John Landau.
Hollywood Producer par excellence.
His advice to kiwi film makers.
follow your dream.
yeah right.
the thing is most kiwi film makers have not got a fucking clue about what a story is.
They just want to be in in FILMS because they cant make it in pottery or counselling.
Hi. My name is roopit. thats roland ovah thar.
Robert McKee came here in the 1970's and nothing has changed.
they (kiwi film makers) dont read comics and they are up their own asses.
Kiwi  films cant even make it into the dvd bargain bins at the warehouse.

The Wrecking Crew.
what do you know.
it aint coming to Masterton!
Deanos version did but that was long ago!

The Lonely Sky.
I loved that book when I was 12. It came out before Chuck Yeagers bio  and it was and still is enthralling.
ONly cost me a dollar at the family store and the dust cover is intact!
