wairarapa economic miracle part 15...

Have been reading two books by Michael Lewis about Wall Street and the money markets.
Same old story.
the people that are supposed to be smart are only smart about one thing and then they think they know everything.
Its a bit like that around here.
All the businessmen think because they know their own business then their skills are transferable.
Noooooooooooo.
If they were things would be different.
As it is everything has gone off the boil because summer is here and the coffers will overflow for three months then they can go back to moaning.
Had to laugh going past National MP Alistair Scott's office this morning.
in the same space as a loan office and the chamber of commerce.
how cosy.
someone to get everybody back into indentured servitude with a loan so huge they cant move and a service organisation that seems to be about providing three jobs to the lucky few and last but not least why have we not been promised a car tunnel under the Rimutakas yet again?
haw haw haw.
See none of them know anything about creating business or productive enterprise.
They would know how to mortgage their house for a 6% r.o.e. if the right franchise came along but as for making something from scratch?
zilcxh.

See the thing is that everybody comes to the Wairarapa and immediately want to transform it into Courtenay Place.
Five years later they are gone.
We are about to have a 'creative festival' sic this month but why is there not a banjo pickers competition or an old time fiddlers competition.
NO.
Its all about Lenny Lye and ballet.
Spoonfeed the local yokels wif sum kulcha mate.
nothing down home at all.
It will shoot through like  a bad vindaloo about a week after.
hmmmmm.

now for something completely different...
