able dog and history as we know it

Since WWII there has been a more or less tacit acceptance that boundaries and leaders were forever.
That somehow  independence was sancosanct colonialism was defeated and that everything was set in concrete forever.
Well it doesn't work like that.
There is nothing special about our age.
Despots come and go and tyrants get their deserts eventually.
Just because the earth is settled to the margins and oil contracts are the most important documents of our era does not mean that boundaries and pieces of paper are forever.
Vigilance is the price of freedom and without gurantors the world is a scary place and never will be any different.
Gaddafi is gone and his exit shows many resemblances to Hussein. Nowhere to go and nobody wanted him.
Opportunity knocks and then the wheel turns.

His memory will now be lost in the sands of time creeping in from the sahara and in a hundred years he will be forgotten.

now for something completely different...
