Dolly Parton and the Grateful Dead

Hi folks.
pretty sick of reporting on the foibles of idiots so here is some real stuff.
right now I am listening to the "18 Greates Hits Of Dolly Parton".
Lovely music and neat tales of a real life that wasnt manufactured in some dream factory somewhere.
Last night I dug out some old VHS tapes from Music World (NZ). 1987 Peterborough Music Festival.
Glen Campbell, Billie JO spears, Dave Dudley, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and a whole lot of others. Just wonderful to see the whole string band. Guitars, Banjos, Mandolins, Fiddles, Pedal Steels the works.
No whining gamines or gibbering crappers.
And another fantastic vid was one made in GErmany in 1987, MTV Closet Classics. The Byrds, Santanna, Moody Blues et al!
A dynamic performance of Proud Mary by Ike and Tina turner. Very erotic with Tina in the skimpiest of minis and the Ikettes doing incredible routines and Ike doing faux english BV's. like dude rowling on the river. Very funny but urgent and compelling. *****. Cream miming  I feel Free with Ginger looking really involved and Eric valiantly chopping out the licks. Jack singing and holding some old 6 string from the props department!!!!!!! funeeee
The Who doing Magic Bus wif moonie going to town on the kit in full mime mode too.

the Standout track is the Grateful Dead performing "Saturday NIght". Its totally different to the record. Full of power with Weir in tremendous voice stealing the show. Pigpen is there too and Jerry Garcia ripping off monster licks. Wow. Died and went to heaven.
PLus a video from "Dirty Dancing" with Bill Medley (righteous bros) and Jennifer Warnes doing it. JUst wonderful kiddies and to top it all off an ad for Shirley Maclaines "Inner Workout"?
Yes sir, I had it all. hehehehehehehe.
