Bob Dylan, Hank Williams and the lost highway...

Listening to Nick Bollinger presenting "The Sampler" on Nights with Bryan Crump (RNZ).
At the moment its Rodney Crowell and Vince Gill doing Hank songs.
Man you just cant beat that fiddle, dobro combo.
The music goes straight to the heart and stays there.
Check out "Move It On Over".

The guitar solo that launched a million hits. you better beleive it. If you can spit this one out then you can play anything and with anybody! Buddy Holly appropriated it and so did everyone else.
The great thing about all this is its hand made music.
You can learn all this in your bedroom with a chord chart and an electronic tuner.
A lot of it is the geffrey walker progression but that dont matter. As your ear grows you begin to hear it all and a new world opens out. Sort of like Chapmans homer but you dont have to read the same poen over and over. Once you get the scales sorted out then you can improvise all over the neck and invent contrafcatuals as well. Hell thats what i REALLY CALL FUN.
